Magnetic Closure Strength Engineering for Electronic Cigarette Packaging
A project-based case study showing the packaging requirement, the development decision, the quality-control focus and the reported project result.
Project Overview
| Application |
Electronic cigarette packaging |
| Box Structure |
Book-style magnetic rigid box |
| Board |
1200gsm rigid board |
| Outer Paper |
128g specialty paper |
| Insert |
Black flocked EVA |
| Finishing |
Full color, matte lamination, spot UV |
| Main Concern |
Closure was too weak |
| Improvement |
Magnets increased from 2 to 4; embedding depth adjusted |
| Result |
Passed client test; repeat order |
The Challenge
The original magnetic closure did not provide the required closing performance.
Structural & Material Solution
The magnetic system was revised from 2 magnets to 4 magnets and the embedding depth was adjusted.
Key Improvement
The corrective action changed magnet quantity and placement rather than treating the problem as a generic need for a stronger magnet.
Quality Control
Checks focused on magnet positioning, closure behavior, lid alignment, EVA fit and finishing.
GooinPack's current packaging workflow places quality control after approved requirements, sampling and production. Current QC information covers materials, printing, dimensions, structure, finishing, insert fit, assembly and final inspection. View Packaging Quality Control.
Project Result
Passed client test; repeat order
